Course description:
Each day, students will begin class by writing in their language arts spirals in response to a warm-up question. Questions will review previous material or prepare for the day’s materials, and prepare students for class discussions. Students will be challenged to learn and incorporate five new vocabulary words per week, and will be in the process of various reading and writing projects at all times. Throughout the year, students will be challenged to master the writing process, as well as demonstrate growth in their ability to use proper grammar and mechanics in writing. Grammar & mechanics will be taught/reviewed through the reading and writing lessons each day, as well as through short Daily Oral Language Exercises.
